Colonel Nguyen Van Luan said the organising board has so far received registrations from 227 athletes to take part in the tournament, many of which have gained exceptional achievements in national and international taekwondo championships previously.
Athletes will compete in demonstration and combat stages within the event.
The Federation of Martial Arts of the Vietnam People's Army has selected 34 best athletes and 4 coaches for the tournament.
Among them are many athletes who have been awarded medals internationally, such as Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngan, Cao Thi Kim Chi, Nguyen Kim Long and Doan Thi Huong Giang.
