Hundreds of athletes from nine countries and territories in Asia will compete in the 21th HCM City International Track and Field Championships - Vietnam Open 2014, which is scheduled to kick off on July 25.
The annual competition, which has been held since 1993, attract athletes from Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Tajikistan, Thailand, and the host Vietnam.
Many big, local names like Vu Thi Huong in the women's 100m and 200m events, Vu Van Huyen in the men's pole vault and decathlon and Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc in the women's walk, will compete in the event.
Of international teams, the RoK and the Philippines are sending the largest contingent.
There are also four international referees from Thailand and Singapore to officiate at the events.
