The directive was issued following a meeting chaired by Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Bui Minh Thanh on the progress of the city's waste transfer station programme.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment will review and update planning for the transfer stations to ensure they meet long-term waste management needs, population density and service coverage.
The department was also tasked with applying modern technologies and equipment to improve environmental hygiene, reduce impacts on nearby residential areas, optimise land use and enhance operational efficiency.
Of the eight stations planned for 2026, four are expected to begin construction in November and the remaining four in December. The city's finance department has been instructed to prioritise funding for the projects.
Authorities were also told to expedite procedures for the remaining 15 projects planned for 2027, with a target of starting construction on five to seven stations in the first quarter.
