According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, the start date for the Phu My 2 Bridge and Can Gio Bridge projects has been set for September 2027, instead of 2026 as previously planned.
For the Phu My 2 Bridge project, the investor is Masterise Phu My Infrastructure JSC, the BT investor, with estimated total capital of VND 23.185 trillion (USD 0.89 billion). The bridge will have eight lanes. The total length of the approach roads and main bridge is about 14.8km, including 4.6km in Ho Chi Minh City and 10.2km in Dong Nai City.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, the project is currently at the stage of seeking approval for its feasibility study report. Construction is expected to begin in September 2027, with completion targeted for 2029.
Similarly, the Can Gio Bridge project is being developed by Masterise Can Gio Infrastructure JSC as the BT investor, with total investment of VND 13.201 trillion (USD 0.51 billion). The project will span about 7.3km and is designed with six lanes.
The investor is now seeking approval for the feasibility study report in preparation for simultaneous construction starting in September 2027, with completion in 2029.

Previously, the groundbreaking ceremonies for both the Can Gio Bridge and Phu My 2 Bridge projects were held on January 15. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee had once planned to begin construction of Can Gio Bridge on June 3. Phu My 2 Bridge had also been targeted for a start in the second quarter of 2026.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction's report, both Can Gio Bridge and Phu My 2 Bridge play an important role in completing the interregional transport network.
Alongside the two bridges, the city is also preparing to roll out several other major infrastructure projects under PPP funding, including a 14.06km sea-crossing road linking the Can Gio area with Vung Tau, and the Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai expressway, which will run for about 50km.
