During the summer holiday, HCM City is attracting more visitors, both Vietnamese and international tourists.

On Sunday evening, July 17, Bui Vien Walking Street was filled with mostly young people.

Nguyen Ha Lan and a friend from Hanoi have just come to HCM City for their summer holiday. Lan said that she was really surprised at the bustling atmosphere."It is much busier compared to similar streets in Hanoi," she said.

The street is also welcoming more foreign tourists.

The street was often more crowded from around 9 pm. Many restaurants and bars hire artists and DJs to perform to attract more customers.

Owner of a restaurant, Nguyen Hoang Sang, said that they are receiving more customers since the summer holiday. "We've added more dishes to serve the increasing number of both Vietnamese and international customers," he said. "I'm happy that we've now fully returned to normal business after the pandemic."
HCM City has recorded less than 700 Covid-19 infections daily since the beginning of January, according to the city’s health department.
