The Rach Dia Bridge project has neared completion in HCM City.

Situated on Le Van Luong Street, the project would replace the 50-year-old, three-metre-wide Rach Dia steel bridge, frequently overwhelmed by traffic.

HCM City officially approved the new VND513 billion bridge project plan in 2017, and construction work began last July.

The new Rach Dia bridge will span 318 metres and be nine to 10.5 metres wide.

So far, 70 percent of the construction work has been completed, and it is expected to be put into operation by December.

According to the Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority of HCM City, the project has followed the schedule well and will meet the planned deadline.
