At about 4.54 pm, officers from Waterway Police Team 2 were patrolling Yen Stream near Tro Wharf in the Huong Son scenic complex when they found a 37-year-old woman showing signs of distress.
Police said she was suffering from low calcium levels and vertigo and required urgent medical attention. She was transported by specialised speedboat to a nearby medical facility, where doctors stabilised her condition.
Her family later expressed gratitude to the officers for their swift response.
Le Van Trang, chairman of Huong Son Commune People’s Committee, said the Huong Pagoda Festival is one of Hanoi’s largest spring events, attracting large numbers of pilgrims and tourists each year.
The festival runs from February 18 to May 11. Organisers said the site welcomed nearly 136,000 visitors in the first five days of the Lunar New Year, including more than 51,000 on the fifth day alone, as favourable weather boosted turnout.
