The 31-year-old victim and his father from Dai Kim Ward, Hoang Mai District washed the water tank at around 9 pm Tuesday. He crept into the tank and his father stood above.

After a while, the father did not hear anything from his son, he came into the tank and found his son had fainted. The father tried to conduct Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, but he failed as the son died right after that.
According to the family’s neighbours, following the tap water pollution caused by the recent oil spill, many local households cleaned their water tank, including the victim’s family.
The dead man was married with two children.
The suspected cause of death was suffocation.
The case is under investigation.
