Hanoi has announced provisional prices for a new social housing project that will offer apartments starting from approximately VND 1.1 billion (USD 42,000).
The CT2 Social Housing Project, located in Linh Nam Ward, is being developed by the Hanoi Housing Investment and Development Corporation (Handico) on a site adjacent to Ring Road 3 and the Nguyen Khoai Dyke Road.
The development covers more than 1.5 hectares, with the CT2 building occupying a footprint of nearly 1,935 square metres. The project comprises 17 above-ground floors, two basement levels, and requires total investment of more than VND 293 billion (USD 11.2 million).
Once completed, the development is expected to provide 150 apartments.
Of these, 83 social housing units will be offered for sale at a provisional price of approximately VND 28.4 million (USD 1,080) per square metre, inclusive of value-added tax and maintenance fees. Based on the proposed pricing, apartment prices will range from about VND 1.1 billion (USD 42,000) to VND 1.5 billion (USD 57,300).
The project will also include 31 rental apartments, with rents estimated at around VND 110,000 (USD 4.20) per square metre per month, 12 rent-to-own units, and 24 commercial apartments.
According to the current schedule, the developer will begin accepting purchase applications in the third quarter of 2026, with the project expected to be completed and handed over in the first quarter of 2027.
Separately, the Hanoi Department of Construction has recently published a list of 19 proposed social housing projects across the capital.
The proposed developments are located in rapidly expanding urban districts and communes, including Dan Phuong Commune, Xuan Phuong Ward, Linh Nam Ward, Hoang Liet Ward, Viet Hung Ward and Soc Son Commune.
The largest proposal is the Tan Hoi Social Housing Project in Dan Phuong Commune, covering approximately 53.18 hectares, making it substantially larger than most of the other developments on the list.
Additional proposed projects in Dan Phuong Commune include the Dai Phu-Dan Phuong Social Housing Project, spanning about 1.6 hectares, and the An Son Social Housing Project, covering nearly 4.5 hectares.
