| Hanoi will strive to prevent new traffic congestion hotspots |
According to the department, traffic jams have plagued local residents, especially during rush hours.
The municipal government has taken several measures to deal with the situation, including changes to school and office hours, dividing lanes for vehicles and building overpasses, with initial results proving effective, the department noted.
These efforts have helped reduce the number of traffic congestion hot spots to 89 from a previous 134.
The department plans to take further measures in order to prevent any new such spots in the near future.
