Halloween toy shops are attracting a large number of customers.

Pumpkin-themed toys are among the best sellers on this occasion.

An owner of a shop in District 3 said that many people have ordered giant pumpkins, while the supply is quite limited as most of them are imported. “We brought several pumpkins from Da Lat City, weighing 25 kilos. They were quickly sold at VND1 million (USD40.81) each,” she said.

Nguyen Thi Van Anh, director of Tam Nong Vietnam Cooperative in Cu Chi District, said that she has sold one tonne of pumpkins. The biggest weighing up to 70 kilos was sold at VND7 million.

According to Nguyen Duc Manh, a shipper in Binh Thanh District, he is busier because of a sharp rise in Halloween orders. Many orders are worth millions of VND, including those from schools.

Pumpkin lanterns are selling well. Imported pumpkins are priced at VND250,000 per kilo.
