Twenty nine Vietnamese people who were in the Philippines during the typhoon Haiyan will be brought home by Vietnam Airlines on December 13-14.

29 Vietnamese people to return Vietnam from the Philippines after Haiyan storm
According to the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines, a total of 31 Vietnamese citizens fell victim to typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines on November 8. One has already come back to Vietnam, and one plans to return home as soon as he solves personal problems.
After the storm, these people were taken from storm-affected areas to Manila for temporary residence. They were also given assistance to be able to return to Vietnam.
Some of them were also allowed to delay their fines for their outdated residency permits in the Philippines. The Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines asked for support from other agencies and individuals, including the Vietnamese people’s association in Manila and overseas Vietnamese to help them.
Each person has been provided with USD1,000 to aid in their return.
