The move came after the province opened tourist sites on Bai Tu Long Bay in Van Don District. The list includes Tay Hoi, Tra Ngoc, Cai Lim, Ba Mun and Ban Sen islands which will help diversify tourism products in the city. Travellers can choose Cai Rong or Ao Tien ports in Van Don District as the starting point of their tours.

Truong Manh Hung, party secretary of Van Don District People's Committee, said that transportation firms have planned to build new boats to serve tourists on Bai Tu Long Bay. However, this will be carried out based on the efficiency of the new tourist sites.

The Van Don District People’s Committee reported that a number of boats will shift from Ha Long Bay to provide their services on Bai Tu Long Bay in the coming time. Their trips will depart from Ao Tien Port.

Bai Tu Long Bay, which stretches the cities of Ha Long and Cam Pha and Van Don District, is home to hundreds of pristine islands. People live on many islands on the bay, making for authentic tour experiences.
