At the meeting, Dung acknowledged and praised Google's contributions to Vietnam, including helping people and businesses access knowledge and develop skills, thereby making practical contributions to the country's digital transformation and development.

The deputy prime minister said the Vietnamese government considers science and technology, innovation and digital transformation key drivers of growth in the country's new era of development.

With its market size, demographic structure and increasingly dynamic technology community, Vietnam has favourable conditions to become a regional centre for technology development and application, he said.

As part of its efforts to deepen international integration, Vietnam is placing greater emphasis on international technology integration and effectively mobilising external resources for development. The country aims to establish partnerships focused on co-creation, linking investment with research and development, technology transfer, high-quality workforce training, strengthening domestic businesses and developing products with global value.

Dung called on Google to continue supporting Vietnam in building a dynamic digital and innovation ecosystem, helping "Make in Vietnam" products and solutions gradually expand into regional and global markets.

Vietnam also welcomes and supports US investors, particularly those investing in science and technology and digital transformation, he said.

Turner expressed Google's desire to further strengthen its partnership with Vietnam and explore effective ways to cooperate and make practical contributions to the Vietnamese people, particularly in support of the country's upcoming AI goals.

He also discussed Vietnam's potential and prospects in AI, shared information on the global landscape and Google's experience, and proposed areas of cooperation that could help strengthen economic, trade and investment ties between Vietnam and the US.

Dung welcomed Turner's views and those of the delegation, expressing hope that the strong cooperation between Google and its Vietnamese partners would continue to expand.
