Gia Lai Province granted licenses to 10 projects with total capital of VND5trn (USD200m)
The HCM City and Gia Lai Province Investment Promotion Conference was held in Pleiku with 400 investors.
After 15 years of co-operation, investors from HCM City have started 26 projects worth more than VND6.30trn (USD252m). Meanwhile, firms from Gia Lai Province also invested VND30trn into HCM City. At the conference, HCM City authorities called for investment in 190 projects, most of them are infrastructure development project for a smart city.
Gia Lai authorities called for investments to 29 projects that can exploit the province's advantages in agriculture, tourism and renewable energy. The provincial authorities promised to create favourable conditions for investors to work.
Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Vo Ngoc Thanh said, "With good policies and preferential treatment, Gia Lai is open to investors."
At the conference, Gia Lai authorities approved 10 projects with a total ofVND5trn capital and signed memorandums of understanding with 11 other investors. A total of more than VND17trn (USD680m) capital for projects between Gia Lai and HCM City has been registered.
