Fuel prices rise on Thursday adjustment

Retail petroleum prices increased at 3 pm today, January 2, following a decision by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

The price of biofuel E5 RON92 increased by VND240 to VND20,050 per litre, while RON95 surged by VND200, reaching VND21,740 per litre.

Diesel prices went up by VND120, reaching VND18,750 per litre, while kerosene increased by VND130 to VND18,830 per litre. Meanwhile, mazut prices surged by VND120, to VND16,090 per kilogramme.

The two ministries decided not to use the petrol price stabilisation fund.

Despite the rise, the price of RON95 remains at its lowest level in over three years, equivalent to June 2021. Since the beginning of this year, petrol prices have increased 25 times and decreased 27 times. Diesel fuel has experienced 23 price hikes and 28 drops.
