Chairman of Co Dung Communal People's Committee, Nguyen Danh Mau, told the Tien Phong Newspaper on May 13 that the four belonged to a group of six Chinese experts at Solid Vietnam Company who have been sent to quarantine at a local house after having close contact with a suspected Covid-19 patient.

"We came to check the quarantine site on May 12 but four of them including three men and a woman were not there," the official said. "They were then found working at their company. We have asked them to immediately return to the quarantine site and have proposed the case to the local Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control for punishment."

On May 13, police in Bac Giang Province also issued a fine of VND8 million each to four local men for leaving an area in Viet Yen District which has been locked down for Covid-19 prevention. The four men were then sent to a paid quarantine facility.

Several northern provinces including Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, and Vinh Phuc are recording an increasing number of Covid-19 infections in the community with many cases reported at local industrial zones.


On Friday morning, 45 new locally-transmitted cases were announced including 13 in Bac Ninh Province, 12 in Hanoi, 10 in Bac Giang Province, six in Lang Son Province, two in Nam Dinh Province, and one each in Thai Binh and Hung Yen provinces.
