Rescue forces search for missing people in Quang Binh Province on June 13

From June 11 to June 13, torrential rains hit many areas, with rainfall exceeding 500mm in places. The downpours caused widespread inundation and damage, according to the provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue.

As of 4 pm on June 13, the four individuals were reported missing after being swept away by floodwaters while fishing on a local river.

Thirty-four locations across the province have been flooded or cut off, and several major national and provincial roads are submerged under 0.5 to 1 metre of water. These include National Highway 9B, National Highway 15, Road 20 Quyet Thang, and routes through Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and Tan Hoa Commune.

Fourteen landslides have also occurred along the Ho Chi Minh Highway and National Highway 12A, blocking traffic and posing further risks.

Local rescue forces have evacuated 23 households to safe areas and are continuing the search for the missing.
