According to Lam Dong Police Department, the tragic accident occurred at around 2pm onTuesday when the four tourists aged between 68-79 were travelling on a UAZ along a stream in the Cu Lan Village of Lac Duong District's Lat Commune.

Suddenly, upstream flood waters hit the area and swept away the vehicle. The 29-year-old driver was lucky to swim to shore, but the four Korean tourists inside the vehicle were swept away by the floodwaters.

Rescue forces were immediately sent to look for the missing tourists and they found two bodies some four kilometres from the site at 3.10pm. Two other bodies of the tourists were found a kilometre away at 4.30pm.

Lam Dong Province has seen heavy rains over the past three days. It was not raining in Lat Commune at the time of the accident but the flash flood might have come from upstream, local authorities said.

Lying some 20 km from Dalat City, Cu Lan Village is a famous tourist destination which attracts visitors with its natural beauty of forests and streams.
