The National Steering Committee about Covid-19 Prevention and Control has sent an official document to all ministries, agencies and provincial people's committees about the new decision. According to the committee, the number of foreign experts, skilled workers and managers carrying the virus is increasing. In order to ensure both the public health and economic development, stricter measures will be applied.
Firms and agencies that have hired foreign experts to Vietnam must make sure that they will be tested for SARS-CoV-2 by a real-time PCR method three to seven days before entering Vietnam. The test must be done at the laboratories approved by Vietnamese government or belonging to the WHO's laboratory system.
The experts must have international health insurance or firms must commit to paying all the charges for them in case they are tested positive. They must help the experts complete the procedures and strictly follow all regulations about prevention and quarantine.
The regulation will not be applied to experts who are scheduled to enter Vietnam by August 5.
