At least three tourist boats and five speedboats were destroyed after catching fire at the Cua Dai Wharf in the central city of Hoi An early Monday morning.

Eight tourist boats are destroyed in Hoi An fire on October 10
Reports from the Quang Nam Provincial Border Guard Command said that the incident occurred at around 3.20 am on October 10 when the boats were anchored at Cua Dai Wharf.
"The fire erupted on a boat and then spread to others anchored nearby and increased quickly due to a strong wind, which made it difficult to stop," the report said. "Three wooden tourist junks and five speedboats were burnt with estimated losses of some VND20 billion."
No human losses have been reported.

The burning boats drifted along the Thu Bon River in Duy Xuyen District's Duy Hai Commune some one-kilometre away. The Cua Dai Border Guard Command asked local boat owners to move their boats out of the area.
The fire was brought under control as of 7 am this morning.
Local authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
