The donation came after an article about the family had been published in the newspaper.
Uy and her ailing sons
The couple Nguyen Huu Bau, 55 and Ha Thi Uy, 52, from Tuyen Hoa District’s Thanh Hoa Commune have two sons, one aged 22 and the other aged 13. Both of them suddenly became paralysed when they were 7 years old.
Initially, they had symptoms that included limb spasms and then were unable to walk. The family could not afford the treatment at the hospital.
The donation was granted to the family
The family live in a ramshackle house by a hill.
Uy expressed her great thanks to receive the donation from through the newspaper. She said she will use the money to cover the treatment for her children.
On behalf of local authorities, Dinh Tien Dung, vice chairman of Tuyen Hoa District, showed his thanks to the newspaper for supporting Uy’s family. Over the past years, Dantri/DTiNews have helped many poor families in Quang Binh.
