Dantri/Dtinews opens a new bridge in Suoi Hoc Village, Yen Bai Province on August 19
An opening ceremony was held on August 19 for the bridge in Suoi Hoc Village, Yen Binh District after two months of construction.
The bridge cost VND 1.5 billion (USD 65,217) including VND 1 billion donated by the family of Nguyen Thi Hong Ha from Hanoi, VND140 million by other donors through Dantri/Dtinews' charity programme, with the remainder from the district budget.
The bridge will benefit more than 200 households with approximately 500 people of the Tay ethnic group who use it every day to go to work or school.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dantri/Dtinews Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Xuan Toan said that he was very moved to see the happy faces of local residents when using the new bridge.

"This is the 25th bridge that we have built nationwide," Toan said. "We'll continue to help build more bridges to support people in difficult areas."
Toan also shared that donor Nguyen Thi Hong Ha was unable to attend the opening event of the bridge due to health problems, but she said she felt happy that the new bridge would help ensure safer travel for local people, especially over 200 children, as well as facilitate economic development in the area.
Speaking at the event, Yen Bai Provincial Study Promotion Association Chairman Trieu Tien Thinh, said that he was very moved to receive such valuable donations from Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper, the family of Nguyen Thi Hong Ha, and other kind donors to build the bridge.

"Thank you so much for this precious present for us," he said. "We now have a safe road to work. Our children can travel safely on the new bridge to school in the coming new school year. I believe that the bridge will help contribute a lot to the development of our area."
Also at the event, Dantri/Dtinews and the Vietnam Study Promotion Fund presented scholarships worth VND 500,000 each to 40 local students from low-income families.
A day earlier, Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper opened a new bridge in Van Chan District's Cat Thinh Commune in Yen Bai.
