Under the municipal people’s committee’s plan, the network consists of 11 markets with five to be built, while the remainder to be upgraded, including Han, Con, Bac My An and An Hai Bac. The markets are mostly located by the Han River, the coast of Son Tra.
Con Market in Danang
These markets are intended to boost the city’s tourism development.
By 2020, the city will develop two more markets to focus on serving tourists, raising the total number of markets of this kind to 13.
Traders at Han Market have been encouraged to concentrate on souvenirs, seafood and traditional handicraft products to attract tourists.
According to the Danang Department of Industry and Trade’s recommendation, the gate of Han River on Bach Dang Street and its parking areas will be upgraded.
Meanwhile, Tuy Loan Market in Hoa Vang District will be combined with some tourist sites along the Tuy Loan River to concentrate on producing special tourism products.
The city will also intensify communications activities to help improve the interpersonal skills of market traders.
