Heavy rains ravaged Danang on Tuesday, putting several areas under water, including the low-lying residential area of Me Suot.
At 10 pm, the police of Lien Chieu District came to the Me Suot area to support the evacuation.
According to local people, following hours of torrential rains, the area was severely submerged at around 9 pm.
People tried to protect valuable assets during the inundation.
The elderly and children were prioritised to be evacuated first. Ropes were used in the fast-flowing water sections for the residents to cling to and move along.
The Me Suot resident area was flooded by one metre. It is one of Danang’s most flood-prone regions. The rescue team used lifebuoys.
The highest rainfall in Danang reached more than 250mm on Tuesday. Rains have been forecasted to gradually decrease from today, November 8.
