Dalat City People's Committee on August 17 announced that they had removed greenhouses and net houses which had been built on forested land area of about 72 hectares.
"We've started the work in May last year," the committee said. "There are just 2.30 hectares of such farms left and the owners said that they would remove the structures themselves after harvesting."

According to the committee, after removing the farms, local farmers are being encouraged to grow trees that suit the soil and climate in the area. They will be provided with young plants and bank loans at preferential lending rates.
The growing area of greenhouses and net houses in Dalat have encroached on forest land, affecting the local scenery, as well as causing flooding and landslides in the central highlands city.
