Speaking with the media on Thursday evening, Nguyen Van Nghia, director of the Dak Nong Provincial Investment Projects Management Board, which is the reservoir’s investor, said that they are investigating the cracks at the site and surrounding houses to propose solutions.
Dak G'long authorities have evacuated over 20 households with over 100 residents to safe areas whose houses also suffered cracks.

Covering 80 hectares, the Dak N'Ting Reservoir was just completed and will be put into operation in Dak G'long District. The VND137-billion project would supply water for 680 hectares of crops including 100 hectares of rice in Quang Son Commune.
Two days earlier some large cracks also appeared in Tuy Duc District and Gia Nghia City following heavy rains caused by Storm Doksuri.
Dozens of households in the province have been isolated by serious flooding and landslides triggered by the prolonged rains.
Two hydropower plants in Gia Nghia City, the Dak R’Tih and Dak Nong 2, also faced landslides in some areas. The Dak Nong 2 plant had to temporarily suspend operations for repair work.
