Each rose stem is sold for between VND3,500-7,000, depending on the variety. Among those, red roses are the most expensive.
Nguyen Van Hoa, a flower grower in Van Thanh Village, said that thanks to favourable weather conditions, the quality of flowers had improved.

This year, roses in Da Lat have higher prices as they are being exported to Laos and Cambodia.

Traders often come to flower gardens in Da Lat to buy flowers on February 9-12 and then resell them to shops.

Farmers in the flower villages of An Son, Xuan Tho and Lang Biang are focusing on harvesting roses to meet Valentine’s Day demand.

Roses in Da Lat have also been brought to different localities, including Hanoi and HCM City. Da Lat City and Lac Duong District produce 120,000 stems per hectare.

Besides roses, the two localities are also well-known for sunflowers and gerberas.
