Boats at Cu Lao Cham
Phan Hung, director of Ngan Ha Ltd.Co., said that his firm transported 25 passengers from Cu Lao Cham Island to the mainland this morning.
The route was suddenly halted on March 14-15, leaving many visitors stranded on Cu Lao Cham Island. This also affected local residents.
The suspension came after the Hoi An City People’s Committee on March 11 sent a document to the Quang Nam Department of Transport related to the authority of licensing for waterway vehicles departing from Cu Lao Cham Wharf.
According to the Hoi An City People’s Committee, authority belongs to the provincial Department of Transport. However, this was previously carried out by the Tan Hiep Commune People’s Committee. So, Hoi An City has asked the Quang Nam Department of Transport to arrange staff for the work.
Following Hoi An City’s recommendation, the Department of Transport on March 14 requested to temporarily suspend the Cua Dai-Cu Lao Cham waterway route.
