At approximately 5 pm on May 26, locals were startled to see a crocodile surfacing near the riverbank. The grey-coloured reptile, estimated to weigh around 10 kilos, quickly submerged when people approached.
The Binh Phu Town People's Committee has urged residents to remain vigilant, keep children out of the river, and avoid fishing or setting nets in the vicinity.
Anyone who spots the animal is advised to contact the town authorities or local police immediately so that measures can be taken to safely capture it.
Earlier, authorities in Tan Thanh District, Long An Province, had also issued a similar warning after residents discovered a crocodile approximately one metre long and weighing around 25 kilos in Lo Duong Canal on May 18 and 19.
Tan Thanh District officials, along with neighbouring localities, are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating response efforts in case the crocodile reappears.
