All commercial activities organised on pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake and the neighbouring areas will be banned.
The Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been assigned to co-operate with concerned agencies to amend the draft management regulations for pedestrian street space around Hoan Kiem Lake.

During the time of the draft regulation amendment, Hanoi will ban the organisation of commercial activities in the Hoan Kiem pedestrian street area, except for key city and central-level political and cultural events. However, the city and central-level events will not be permitted to be organised in front of the area from Ly Thai To Statue to Tran Nguyen Han Street.
Hanoi Party Secretary Dinh Tien Dung previously said that many fairs or other commercial activities need to be arranged in other districts, such as Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai or Nam Tu Liem, instead of being concentrated around Hoan Kiem Lake.
