According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the cold spell will cause rains and thunderstorms in the two regions, which may last until May 15.
From May 8, temperatures in the northern localities are forecasted to decrease by 7-8 degrees Celsius to between 29-30 degrees Celsius.
On May 6 and 7, the region will continue to face extremely hot weather with temperatures of between 36-40 degrees Celsius. The northwestern and central localities will see hotter weather reaching up to 41 degrees.
