Cold Christmas for people in northern, central region

A severe cold front enveloped the northern and central region and another is set to move in by Saturday, certain to bring in an extremely cold Christmas for people living in these areas.

A severe cold front has enveloped parts of the northern and central region and another is set to move in by Saturday, certain to bring in an extremely cold Christmas for people living in these areas.

According to the national weather bureau, temperatures plunged 9-10 degrees Celsius. The harsh weather conditions in the mountainous regions dropped mercury levels to 5-6 degrees celsius.

Mid central provinces have seen medium rain while the northern provinces have experienced some showers. The sky is expected to clear again by December 27-28.

Sa Pa will remain the coldest on Christmas Eve with temperatures forecast to drop to 0 degrees celsius. Nonetheless, more visitors are expected this year than in previous years.

Residents in Sa Pa said that if temperature falls to 0 degrees, this will be the second consecutive year they will welcome a near freezing Christmas.

Ho Chi Minh City and the southern regions can look forward to a warm Christmas with temperatures hovering between 22-30 degrees.
