Under the proposal of the provincial people’s committee, the airport will have a 2,400-metre runway that can receive narrow-body aircraft like the Airbus A320, A321 and similar models.

The project to be located at An Hai Commune is expected to serve between 3-3.5 million passengers annually when it becomes operational.
Tourism is considered a key sector for Ly Son Island. However, at present, the only way to the island is by boat, which is inconvenient to tourists. So, the province has proposed the airport construction in the district in the next ten years.
Quang Ngai authorities believed that the airport project would help boost Ly Son Island’s socio-economic development and defence.
