Some passengers complained that they could not get to the airport in time due to the heavy rains. Roads such as Bach Dang and Phan Dinh Giot towards the airports were flooded causing traffic delays as well.
Meanwhile, the roof of the airport was leaking forcing authorities to cut the power off at the airport. They wanted to check whether or not cable and electricity wires of luggage belts had been soaked.
The power cut caused a delay for check-in procedures of flights on Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific. At 1:20pm, normal procedures resumed.
Speaking to DTiNews, a representative from the Southern Airports Authority confirmed the delays and said the biggest consequence was that two international flights could not land at the airport.
