The April 30 and May 1 holiday will last from April 27 to May 1.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has asked airlines to conduct more flights from Hanoi and HCM City to tourist hubs such as Danang, Tuy Hoa, Phu Quoc, Binh Dinh and Cam Ranh during the holiday period.

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has planned to increase services by 30-40 flights per day, while budget airline VietJet Air will raise flight frequency by 80 daily.

During the April 30-May 1 holiday, airlines in Vietnam will provide around 100,000-110,000 seats on domestic flights, up 20 percent against March.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City will see a rise of 60 flights per day during the holiday.

The route with the highest booking rate on April 27 is the Hanoi-Quang Binh service with 99.51 percent capacity, followed by the HCM City-Tuy Hoa with 82.77 percent, the Hanoi-Phu Quoc and Hanoi-Hue with 80 percent and the HCM City-Phu Quoc with 77.23 percent.

Flight booking rates from Hanoi and HCM City to localities are around 40-60 percent.

The lowest airfares on the Hanoi-Phu Quoc and the HCM City-Phu Quoc routes are around VND2.20 million (USD88) and VND1.5 million (USD60).
