According to Le Van Hiep, Chairman of the Dien Lam Commune People’s Committee, the crocodile was caught in the section of the Cho River running through the locality. It is suspected to be linked to a recent crocodile attack in the commune.
The animal, a female measuring about 2.65 metres in length, was safely restrained after its capture.

The crocodile weighs around 80 kilogrammes
Earlier, on the morning of October 8, a young man waded into the Cho River to retrieve a fishing hook caught on an underwater branch when a crocodile suddenly attacked him, biting his arms and legs.
After struggling for some time, the victim managed to break free, climb ashore, and was taken by residents to a medical station for first aid. His condition is now stable.
To ensure public safety, the Dien Lam Commune People’s Committee has issued loudspeaker warnings, urging residents to stay away from ponds and waterways.
Local authorities initially suspected the crocodile had escaped from a nearby tourist site, but later confirmed that it was not linked to any local tourism facility.
