The figures showed increases of 28 in the number of deaths, 44 in injuries and 46 in accidents compared to the same period last year.
According to the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security, most accidents occurred on roads.
During the four-day period, traffic police nationwide punished over 34,000 violations with combined fines of VND72 billion; seized over 520 automobiles, nearly 12,000 motorbikes, and 120 other vehicles; and withdrew 7,200 driving licences.
