In a report released on February 22, the Traffic Police Department said the accidents occurred between February 14 and 22.
Compared with the nine-day Tet holiday in 2025, the number of accidents fell by 154 cases, or 28.79 per cent. The death toll dropped by 73, or 23.2 per cent, while injuries declined by 118, or 30.10 per cent.
During the holiday period, local traffic police detected and handled more than 76,300 violations nationwide. Authorities revoked more than 2,400 driving licences and deducted points from over 16,000 others.
Of the total violations, more than 26,300 cases were related to alcohol concentration offences.
