More than 200,000 people, from around the country, have come to pay tribute to late General Vo Nguyen Giap's tomb in Quang Binh Province.

These numbers were released by border soldiers responsible for keeping track of visitors to the general’s tomb, which is located in Vung Chua – Dao Yen area in Quang Trach District’s Quang Dong Commune.
Lieutenant Nguyen Khac Tan Hao said on January 10 that they would stop welcoming visitors to the tomb on the morning of January 11 in order to allow the family to conduct rites marking the 100th day after the general’s death.
Visitors will be allowed to come on the afternoon of the same day, Hao said.


Bronze drum, cannon and sword brought as offerings
According to him, since the day the general’s tomb was built, there has been a non-stop stream of people wanting to pay their respect. The number of visitors increases during weekends and holidays, peaking at 5,000 people per day.
On January 10, a delegation of National Assembly deputies from Thanh Hoa Province carried a bronze drum, a cannon and a sword as offerings to the hallowed memory of the late general.
