The items will carry a message “For the future generations” which were highlighted in a proposal of activities for this year and the celebration of the 1000 year Thang Long – Hanoi anniversary, approved by the Prime Minister. The purpose is to leave imprints for future generations.

The selected items should reflect the daily life of people so that future generations will know more about their ancestor's past. They will be buried at Hanoi’s Museum and kept safe with durable materials and equipment.

There will be 63 items which will represent 63 provinces and cites nationwide. The remaining items will be collected from people. The equipment’s volume has 1,000 liters which is symbolic for 1,000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi. They will contain a speciality from each area throughout the nation and our next generations will come to know about the cultural cream and technology development of their past generations at a memorable time of Hanoi.

Equipment that will be used to preserve items

Hanoi’s authorities will coordinate with provinces and other cities to select typical items in order to preserve them for 1,000 years. Organisers also will publicise a campaign through mass media to collect items from Vietnamese people in land and out land.

There will be a judging board to pick up the 937 best items which reveal the life, human and modern social development of Vietnam.

They can be simple daily items or popular products, newspapers on urgent matters of life or pictures, coins or science & technology achievements like mobile phones or television transceivers through which our offspring can have better insights about our daily life.
