Participants at the Vietnam Amazing Roast Master 2025 competition on March 10.
This is one of the key events of the on-going 9th Buon Ma Thuot 2025 Coffee Festival.
The competition features 36 contestants from 13 provinces and cities.
During the competition, participants will undertake various tasks, including assessing the green coffee beans used for roasting, familiarising themselves with the roasting machine, submitting roasting plans and flavour profile descriptions, and performing the roasting process.

The judges will evaluate contestants based on a new scoring template aligned with the standards of the Specialty Coffee Association and the Coffee Quality Institute. Through this competition, coffee roasters will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and produce high-quality, expertly roasted coffee that meets international standards. This process enhances and highlights the unique flavours developed during roasting.
In his opening speech, Trinh Duc Minh, Chairman of the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, stated "This event not only celebrates the art of coffee roasting but also fosters healthy competition, where each contestant is free to innovate, share experiences, and collectively enhance the quality of coffee, our nation’s pride. The competition helps position Vietnamese coffee on the global map, reaffirming Buon Ma Thuot, the land of coffee, as the world’s coffee destination."

Trinh Duc Minh, Chairman of the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, speaks at the event.
