Over the past six days, traffic police have identified and addressed 37,868 violations, temporarily impounding 268 cars, 12,645 motorcycles, and 320 other vehicles. Among these, 10,138 cases were related to alcohol violations, and 9,128 involved speeding offences.

Traffic accidents in Vietnam have significantly declined since a new prime ministerial decree was implemented on January 1, introducing stricter traffic violation regulations.

Under the decree, cars that fail to stop at red lights will be fined VND20 million (USD780), an increase from the previous fine of VND6 million (USD230). Meanwhile, motorbikes running red lights will face fines ranging from VND4 million to VND6 million.
