More than 500 Polish tourists arrived at Cam Ranh International Airport in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa on a SkyUp Airlines direct flight from Poland on January 29, the first day of the Lunar New Year.
The visitors received lucky money and gifts from Dinh Van Thieu, vice chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of the Department of Tourism, the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, and other relevant agencies.
The Polish tourist group is expected to stay for a total of 10 days at high-end resorts and hotels in Cam Lam district in Nha Trang city, as well as visit historical sites and join in exciting activities on the islands in Nha Trang Bay.
Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, director of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism, said that this year the Khanh Hoa tourism industry aims to welcome 11.8 million visitors, including 5.2 million international visitors, earning tourism revenue totaling VND60 trillion.
The direct flight from the emerging market on the first lunar day offers an opportunity for the locality to elevate the locality’s image and tourism to European visitors.
Moreover, it also contributed to further expanding the region's European tourism market and diversifying the source of visitors to Nha Trang city.
In the immediate future, the province plans to tap into the Polish tourism market with a frequency of three flights per month and each flight carrying more than 500 passengers.
At present, there are favourable factors for exploiting the European market as the Government’s resolution 11 on visa exemption for citizens of the following countries includes Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland took effect from January 15.
According to industry insiders, European guests typically stay for a long time and have high spending levels.
