Car plunges into Nam Dinh river, killing seven

A car fell into a river in the northern province of Nam Dinh, leaving seven dead.

The accident occurred around 3 pm on Thursday in Nam Van Ward, Nam Dinh City. While travelling on National Road 21 near Nam Van Bridge, the seven-seat vehicle heading from Voi Bridge to Nam Dinh City suddenly lost control, struck the bridge guardrail, and plunged into the river.

As a result, seven people were killed at the scene, while two others were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

According to some sources, the driver was a 61-year-old woman from Hanoi's Ba Dinh District. The car also contained young children. All of the victims were members of the same family.

The incident caused significant traffic congestion on National Highway 21.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
