The campaign aims to grow 30,000 trees in northwestern localities, helping restore 50 hectares of forest in Hoa Binh and Son La provinces this year.
Trees grown in Van Ho
Launched in June this year, the campaign had planted 18,000 trees for the first 27 hectares of forest by late August.
In the second phase which was completed on October 5, 200 people planted the remaining 12,000 trees. Some 160 people in Son La’s Van Ho District contributed to planting 8,350 trees in the Pa Co and Hua Tat areas, while another 40 people assisted in growing 3,170 trees in the Pa Co Commune in Hoa Binh.
Roughly 5,000 remaining trees will also be planted in Van Ho District next week.
Dang Phi Hung, chairman of Van Ho Commune in Van Ho District, said this was the third consecutive year and the second time in 2024 local authorities have worked with the non-profit PanNature to plant trees for forest restoration.
