Under Ha Long's general planning, by 2040, the city will have new cable cars linked to Thien Son Mountain, Loi Am Pagoda, and Bai Tho Mountain.
Bai Tho Mountain: Nguyen Hung
Bai Tho Mountain, located in the centre of Ha Long City, is around 200 metres high and offers stunning viewpoints of Ha Long Bay. It is nicknamed Poetry Mountain because 12 poems, including by King Le Thanh Tong in 1468, were engraved on its cliffs.
Thien Son Mountain, situated in the Dong Son-Ky Thuong Nature Reserve, is about 40 km west of Ha Long City centre. The Dong Son-Ky Thuong Nature Reserve is considered "the lung of Ha Long" thanks to its diverse flora and fauna.
Loi Am Pagoda in Dai Yen Ward is a pagoda boasting a picturesque landscape. It lies on the mountain range of the same name, about 500 metres above sea level, and has a cool climate with rich flora and fauna.
The Nu Hoang cable car, the first of its kind in Ha Long, was to be launched in 2026. It connects Bai Chay and Dang Ba Hat Hill.
