Monks assisting potential university students

Da Nang City’s Buddhism Association is to kick off a supporting programme for prospective students of university entrance examinations.

Da Nang City’s Buddhism Association will kick off the first supporting programme for prospective students of this year’s university entrance examinations on June 29.

The programme is designed to provide assistance to high school students who will come to Da Nang City for the university entrance examinations.

Tran Van Hong, Chief of the Secretariat of the Buddhist Family Guidance Division said, “The Da Nang City Buddhism Association assigned the Buddhist Family Division to establish 4 volunteer groups working at Hue intersection, inter-provincial bus stations, railway stations and the office of the Buddhist Family Division at Phap Lam Pagoda.”

Volunteers will distribute guidance books and pick-up high school students together with their relatives who are members of the Buddhist Family from other provinces and needy students, then take them to the pagodas which are nearest to their examination locations and provide accommodation and food for them.

Currently, accommodations for about 400 people are available at the pagodas of Tan Hoa at Hai Chau District; An Hai at Son Tra District, Phap Van at Thanh Khe District, Quang Minh at Lien Chieu District and Ba Da at Ngu Hanh Son District. In addition, over 100 Buddhist families are willing to receive students and their relatives at their homes and provide them with food and accommodation.
