The hospital's trade union organised the activity on October 20 to celebrate the 94th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day. On this occasion, the organising board granted 50 gifts worth VND500,000 (USD20) each and 15 sets of hair for the patients.

According to Doctor Hoang Thi Lan Huong, deputy director of Hue Central Hospital, the hospital's Oncology Centre treats hundreds of patients.

Following radiation and chemotherapy treatment, patients often lose their hair, which can leave them feeling self-conscious, particularly women. Therefore, donated hair can partially help female patients regain some of their confidence and hope.
