Officials in Phu Tho Province and local authorities in Toan Thang Commune on June 1 continued investigating the death of the tourist, who was a resident of Tan Lac Commune.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of May 31 at Trang Waterfall, a well-known tourist attraction in the province.
According to preliminary information, the man was swimming at the waterfall when he climbed to an upper tier and jumped into the water below. He lost consciousness immediately after entering the water.
Staff from the waterfall management board and family members rushed the victim to a nearby medical station for emergency treatment, but he could not be revived.
Authorities later found a head injury on the victim. The area where he jumped into the water contains numerous submerged rocks beneath the surface.
Investigators are working to determine the exact cause of the incident.
Trang Waterfall, which is approximately 20 metres high and consists of five cascading levels, is one of Phu Tho Province’s most popular natural attractions.
The site attracts large numbers of visitors during the summer months seeking relief from the heat. Previous fatal drowning incidents have also been reported at the waterfall.
